Why ALS?
Today, more than
ever, construction firms need independent risk management advisory.
Designing a risk management program for a construction project is as
critical as the overall plan design for the project. Today’s
construction risks are complex and ever increasing as a project or
enterprise grows. Projects can be affected by volatility in
financing, which affects the availability and underwriting terms of
traditional insurance coverage. Inefficient risk management, claims
management, or unexpected or undefined new risks that emerge during
a project can dramatically affect profitability.

The ALS Group
and our CRIS certified Associates
bring innovative and traditional risk solutions to
the design process. We couple this with our best practices
management which enables us to achieve a highly cost effective
approach for our clients.
What we do
We will work with
your project team at the very early stages of a project to determine
the relationships that exist and how the project owner can mitigate
risks inherent in these relationships. We become part of the team of
advisors to shepherd the project toward proper completion.
Our Construction
Group will work to:
1) Identify the
type of project and material risks to success.
2) Work with your
legal advisors to determine the contractual risk transfer
anticipated with significant parties to the project.
3) Design the
most appropriate insurance solution that supports the decisions from
the foundation framework determined.
4) Provide
support for the design of terms and to orchestrate the tender for
the best solution for insurance placement.
5) We can provide
a
Feasibility Study to
determine which solution is most appropriate and execute from there.
Our Expertise
We have a
comprehensive understanding of large construction projects and the
use of traditional insurance or Owner Controlled Insurance Programs
(OCIP). Choosing the correct path early on and having a control
framework to support the successful tender and implementation is
critical to project success. Every project is different and we are
able to bring experience, expertise and innovative thought to the
individual and unique needs of each project. Because we are
independent, there is a lack of bias and we avoid actual or
perceived conflicts of interest. When The ALS Group is engaged,
advocacy for our clients is uncompromised because we do not sell
insurance and all engagements are fee based.
